Schools, Daycare & Camps

We have two types of programs: Interactive “World Music Safari Adventure” shows (for All Ages) and Hands-on Percussion Workshops (for ages 4 and up).

Shows (we offer 3 levels of shows)

Each Show is a “World Music Safari Adventure” that takes participants around the globe in search of amazing instruments and sounds.  We travel to African jungles, South American rainforests and the Great Wall of China to discover clues from animal friends and learn about ecology.   These forty-five minute percussion spectaculars feature interactive music adventures that drum up a child’s imagination. No show is too big or too small.

Level 1 Shows

(All ages | 45 - 50 minutes) No max attendance

This is our most popular offering and can be enjoyed by all ages and any size group.  This Show moves fast and gets the crowd up dancing while learning about amazing new instruments on adventures to fantastically imagined places.

Our Level 1 Shows fall into two categories –  Family Fun Series Shows or Specialty Shows listed below (availability may vary by location)

Family Fun Series

Specialty Shows

Level 2 Shows

(Pre-school ages 1.5 - 2.5 years old | 30 minutes) Max 30 children per show

This level show is geared for a younger audience. We teach the children about what music is through rare percussion sounds with a focus is on edutainment and engagement. This version of our show has a simplified storyline to follow, and silly musical animal friends to keep the kids laughing. This Show can be booked as an add-on Show or in a combo program.

Level 3 Shows

(Babies/Infants | 20 - 25 minutes) Max 30 children per show

This show features a gentler approach than the others, and provides babies and infants a unique experiential music environment. We focus on playing short songs and nursery rhymes on world music instruments. The performer will walk through the audience and even allow children to play some of the easily performed instruments.  This Show can be booked as an add-on Show or in a combo program.

Workshops for Children

Mystic Drumz offers many types of interactive rhythm workshops.
All our workshops can be customized to different levels:

    • Junior Program (4-6)
    • Intermediate Program (7-12)
    • Senior Program (13-17)

Drum Circle

10 to 100 children at a time

This is a chance for children to get creative and perform in their own percussion ensemble.

Bucket Drumming

Participants learn the proper way to hold and use drum sticks to find all the sounds hidden in and around a bucket. Our facilitators work on basic drumming techniques, drills, rudiments and games.

Boomwhacker

This workshop offers another exciting percussion experience. We specialize in rhythm training and fun. Playing call and response, follow the leader and joining in marching games makes the learning exciting.

Workshops for Teachers

Even teachers need a little fun! The goal of our teachers’ workshop is twofold: To create synergy in the workplace through dynamic drumming ensembles…and at the same time to educate teachers about techniques for integrating simple rhythm and sound games into their lesson plans.

weekly School Lunchtime and
After-school Programs

Six, eight and ten-week sessions are all available for after-school and lunch-time programs. These skill-building programs progress from week to week. Watch how a child’s musical ability grows with just a little encouragement from our skilled instructors.

For thousands of years...

people have wondered about the mysterious Marshmallow Island. Legend says that it appears rarely but is essential to the world’s supply of marshmallows.
Then the marshmallow people throw down an all night rave dance party and dance till their feet are sore. During this rambunctious event marshmallows explode out from the island in all directions and cover the ground surrounding the marsh. It’s then and only then that humans can gather the marshmallows of all sizes and bring them home for use at campfires, rice crispy squares, amores, and more.
The Mallow plant commonly found in and around marshlands and ponds is a direct result of the seeding from these parties and the leftover marshmallows.
This story sparked a passion in Lorne Lampert, founder of Mystic Drumz, to search out and finally gain photographic proof of this auspicious event. Along this adventure Lorne finds and demonstrates unique and eclectic world beat Percussion Instruments and Drumz from around the globe. Follow Lorne, his pet frog Larry, and all his animal buddies as they retell the adventure that leads them there.
